A low-rise, articulated volume sits in the environment of the river park, a calm and silent presence that marks a horizontal line subordinate to the sinuosity of the landscape elements. Through the articulation of the volume, defined according to the constraints of the context, the open spaces are configured according to the scale of the site. The layout of the hospital is based on the essential organization of its constituent elements: a modular and evolutionary system capable of regeneration and expansion over time. The project is based on a organization that responds effectively to the construction phases planned, which continue the infrastructure of the first phase on two sides, continuing the original layout without, however, constraining the future in a finished form. Within the structural scheme, based on a homogeneous grid and ample and constant floor heights, it is possible to adapt the contents throughout the life cycle of the building. The hospital project envisages a structure in which the concept of growth is an inherent factor, a structure capable of continuous development and replacement. The project proposes, for the first construction phase (horizon 2031), a facility that immediately responds precisely and consistently to the context, without having to wait until the final phase to find embedment and definition. The initial form is composed of a center and two wings that can be extended in the second realization phase (horizon 2046), continuing the rules of the original system and defining a final scenario that is both coherent and adaptable to unpredictable factors.
