School Center Lodrino, Lodrino

School Center Lodrino, Lodrino

The new site of the secondary school of Lodrino replaces the existing building. An extended building is proposed for the entire competition site, with a volumetric typology in analogy with the numerous industrial and infrastructural buildings along the valley. A park of public character is proposed to replace the existing building and to connect the two school sites. Given the possible synergies between the two sites, the continuity of pedestrian routes is facilitated. The building has three school levels. The main and secondary entrances for the middle school are located on the ground floor. The layout of the entrance lobby defines a permeable area, a space for gathering, recreation and retreat for all other functions on the upper floors. The second floor is dedicated to teaching and support functions. The classrooms are located on the second floor. Indirect lighting generated by the "shed" roof, with openings to the north, allows an optimal classroom layout that facilitates any type of teaching proposed and where the circulation space serves as a diffuse atrium.
